1:1 Teaching Assistant (temporary)

Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 1)

Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire

Salary: £14 - £15ph depending on qualifications and experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm

Duration: 22nd April until 22nd July 2025

Are you an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant or Care Worker, skilled in supporting young people or adults with autism, ADHD, PDA or SEMH needs?

Manaba is working with a school on the outskirts of Waterlooville who have an immediate need for a Teaching Assistant to support a young pupil in Year 1 on a 1:1 basis. Although the pupil doesn't yet have an EHCP; he is often unsettled and dysregulated so needs 1:1 support to help him both in class and on an individual basis.

Role Overview:

• Support pupils’ well-being and learning, using a child-centered approach.

• Foster trusting relationships and a safe, positive environment.

• Work closely with specialist teams.

• Apply safeguarding knowledge and de-escalation techniques.

• Encourage pupil engagement through positive, tailored activities.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in teaching & learning or health & social care.

• Strong understanding of SEMH, behavioural challenges, anxiety, trauma, etc.

• Enhanced DBS and at least one relevant reference.

• Experience in a similar role.
